New York Post recently reported that Biden endorsed Harris as a “big f–- you” to former President Barack Obama, who had endorsed an open Democratic primary process at the DNC convention next month.
Whatever exactly happened behind the scenes, at the crucial level of the media, which legitimizes the decisions that politicians make, particularly the undemocratic ones, Harris had the support of the same team that demanded that Biden pick a black woman as president in 2020.
On July 9, the New York Times published a long article about support from black women for Biden-Harris. Naturally, these were the same black women who had demanded Biden choose a black VP in 2020.
“Mr. Biden has repeatedly insisted that he would not be pushed out of the race and reiterated his commitment to running again in a letter to congressional Democratson Monday,” wrote the Times. “But in recent days, Ms. Harris, who has not wavered in her backing of Mr. Biden, has garnered more attention as an alternative presidential candidate.”
The article was clever because Harris and her allies could show it to Biden and his allies as proof of Harris’ loyalty. At the same time, it made the case for Biden to anoint Harris and not allow an open convention like the kind Obama, Pelosi, and Schumer wanted. And the article was in The Times, which is the most influential news media source for Democratic elites.
“Should Mr. Biden step aside and Democrats select a candidate other than the vice president,” reported the Times, “it would all but assure a monumental loss of Black support, many suggested.”
“Fourteen million people voted for me to be the nominee in the Democratic party. I listen to them.” sagde Joe Biden til NBCs Lester Holt. Kamala er en “diversity hire” så man kan ikke slippe af med hende, men må magtesløst se hende klatre op af palads-intrigernes stige.
Joy Reid spurgte i 2020 Joe Biden om han var “committed to naming a black woman as your vicepresidential running mate?”. Nu siger hun om den virkelighed, at “it reveals the truth that it’s clearly broadly held within Republican circles, that white men by definition, when they have a job, earned it and deserve it, and any body but a white man is a DEI hire”: Obamas tidligere sikkerhedsrådgiver, Susan Rice, gentager samme opfattelse “They’re basically trying to dehumanize her and all of us…if you’re not a white Christian male, then any success you’ve had, you’ve got, without merit, because of some unfair preference.”
Så de hænger på hende og sluges skal noget. “Michelle and Barack Obama call Kamala Harris to endorse her campaign for President.” lød det efter nogle dage med pinlig tavshed fra de to Kongelige Demokrater. Og den anbefaling var ikke bare cheesy, skrev Piers Morgan, den var “full-on Gorgonzola”
Internettet husker selvfølgelig dengang kandidaterne Biden og Harris blev spurgt om, hvad der ville ske, hvis det kom til en fundamental uenighed mellem dem og Biden huskede tilbage til sin tid som vicepræsident og sagde “I’ll develop some disease and say I have to resign”. Corporate media outlets wagged their collective finger at Republicans for audaciously claiming that Biden, who created the open border debacle currently devouring America, put his feckless VP in charge of finding solutions to the mess of the administration’s making. The Wall Street Journal led the charge in painting Harris a “convenient scapegoat” of Republican rancor, not only insisting that the vice president’s role was much narrower than had been routinely reported, but that she has acquitted herself nicely by announcing that Pepsi and Nestle would make investments in Central America.

But Axios took the cake, asserting in an X post that Harris never actually had the job.
“The outlet’s complaints that the Trump campaign and Republicans like House GOP Chair Elise Stefanik have unfairly labeled Harris’ role, however, fall short in the face of its own reporting, which repeatedly referred to Harris as Biden’s border czar,” Boyd writes. Caught in its own crap, Axios added an editor’s note to the original reporting, offering a late mea culpa that it “was among the news outlets that incorrectly labeled Harris a ‘border czar.’”
Why, pray tell, did Axios make this quick change this week of all weeks? We ask the cross-examining attorney’s question, of course, an answer clear to any mind still capable of reason.
