Elon Musk talte i godt to timer med Donald John Trump på X og internettet brød næsten sammen. Og det gjorde pressen også. Ikke nok med det, så vendte Trump tilbage til X fra sit Truth Social exil. Tara Bull fejrede det med en samling af Trumps mange legendarisk tweets. “Never forget” hvad Musk tidligere har lagt lokkende op, skrev Collin Rugg men Elon Musk lagde dette op på X i stedet
Hele samtalen er længere nede, men X profilen The Vigilant Fox har samlet en række højdepunkter startende med at Musk fortæller om et cyberangreb, der skulle ødelægge streamingen. “This massive [DDOS] attack illustrates that there’s a lot of opposition to people just hearing what President Trump has to say.” konstaterede Musk. Derefter talte de om den manglende sikkerhed ved attentatforsøget på Trump i forrige måned, “Your actions after that assassination attempt were inspiring” sagde Musk.
Trump påtalte Kamala Harris hykleri for, som Trump, at ville friholde drikkepenge fra at blive beskattet, mens hendes egen regering har optrappet skattemyndighedernes indsats for at kradse selvsamme drikkepenge ind til staten. Og så var de enige om at grænsekontrollen var afgørende for landets fremtid. “Trump quipped that Joe Biden’s IQ is so low, “he might not even have an IQ at all.””
Musk mente endvidere at der skulle være en plan for at skære ned på regeringens inflationsskabende overforbrug – “Inflation comes from government overspending because the checks never bounce when it’s written by the government,” som han forklarede, før de sluttede af med at tale om EU kommisær Thierry Breton besynderlige trussel om at ville straffe X for at lade Trump komme til orde, til hvilket Musk “shared a meme telling Breton to “take a big step back and literally f—k your own face.”” og han sagde til Trump “I think it’s obvious that you’re a believer and an advocate of free speech.”
“Because during your first time as president, you were attacked relentlessly every day, often very unfairly with false attacks. And you didn’t try to shut down the media. You didn’t try to inhibit their freedom of speech. And I think that says a lot.”

But the bigger story is that two of the most important world figures agree on the world. Whats that tell you? The most consequential technical genius perhaps ever and the most consequential political figure are talking about stuff on equal footing, and Trump knows everything Musk is talking about concerning energy, artificial intelligence and economic development. no politician could energetically engage on future problems like this. Most would need a staff of ten doing packets of research for each topic and still the politician will have no idea what to think.
Pressen, Demokraterne, Sumpen frygtede det på forhånd. The Washington Post’s Cleve Wootson spurgte endda Det Hvide Hus’ talsmand Karine Jean-Pierre om regeringen dog ikke kunne gribe ind overfor Musk og Donald Trumps forestående samtale

I don’t know if the president is going to — feel free to say if he is or not — but I — I think that misinformation on Twitter is not just a campaign issue. It’s a — you know, it’s an America issue. What role does the White House or the President have any sort of stopping that or stopping the spread of that or sort of inter — intervening in that. Some of that was about campaign misinformation, but you know it’s a wider thing, right?”
KJP: “Yeah, no, I mean, you’ve heard us talk about this many times from here about the responsibilities that social media platforms have when it comes to misinformation, disinformation. I don’t have anything to read out from here about specific ways that we’re working on it, but we believe that that they have the responsibility. These are private companies, so we’re also mindful of that too, but look — it is — I think it is incredibly important to call that out as you’re — you’re doing. I just don’t have any specifics on what we have been doing internally as it relates to the interviews, not something that I’m tracking, and I’m sure the President’s not tracking it either.”

CNNs @kasie Hunt mente at Musks “rise as a Trump backer comes as X has turned into a haven for the spread of misnformation” CNNs Dana Basch fyrede en ‘Rupar’ af, det løgnagtigt at hive noget ud af en sammenhæng, da hun spillede en sekvens, hvor Trump og Musk, vurderer risciciene ved atomkraft og radioaktivitet, ud fra de værste eksempler, bomberne mod Hiroshima og Nagasaki. Basch fremstillede det som at de nedtonede tragedien, mens milliardærernes pointe var, at begge byer er spil-levende til trods.
CNNs Van Jones, der vist nok er vildt flink privat, kom med denne bizarre projection
The worst three weeks of his campaign, that’s what the press i saying, the same year that he got indicted, convicted and shot at, and actually hit by a bullet, None of this is as bad, as possibly not getting as much attention as Kamala. That is the only thing that is happening is that he is not getting as much attention as Kamala Harris.
He is more freaked out about that than being a convicted crook and someone who almost got killed. So that lets you know, that the level of narcissistic challenge that we have here. Meanwhile Kamala Harris is doing exactly what she needs to do. Everybody says shes gotta talk to a reporter, she’s gonna talk to a reporter.
What you notice that she’s already done like 19 [uforståeligt. red] she united the Democratic Party. She picked a VP that made everybody happy in the party. She managed to get us on a path to a convention that people are exited about. She somehow got Biden out of the way without Biden hating her or anybody hating her.
She is a political mastermind, that has been underestimated her whole carrer. Shes doing amazing, and at some time she’ll talk to a reporter, but in the meantime this guy is falling apart in plain view
Man må helt klart tage hatten af for hendes politiske tæft, at hun er kommet så langt op uden en eneste stemme. Harris valg af vicepræsident kandidat er måske ikke så godt da han har skab en karriere på at smykke sig med lånte fjer, eller ‘stolen valor’ som de kalder det: “Unearthed footage from 2004 shows then-Rep. Tim Walz telling a Gold Star family that he deployed to Afghanistan and that he and the troops under his command struggled with PTSD.” skriver Rob Smith. Det forklarer hvorfor han, ligesom Kamala, ikke holder pressekonferencer.
Så CNN begræder at Trump via X når ud til flere mennesker, end dem selv, samtidig med at de beskylder Trump for at være i opløsning over at blive overstrålet af Kamala Harris. Trump når nemlig ud til unge mennesker, der er hjemmevant på nettets ustyrlige frihed. “We just met Trump!” sagde Adin Ross begejstret, første gang han havde “æren” at møde ekspræsidenten, før hans streamede samtale med Trump i Mara Largo. Anderledes med Joe Biden, der midt i alle ulykkerne, daser på stranden i Delaware.
