Kamala Harris is so catastrophically bad at answering basic, predictable questions that people endorsing her have, I believe, been left without a plausible explanation for their support. If you vote for Harris, you are tacitly accepting some form of extra-constitutional rule in which we are not even entitled to know who is actually making “presidential” decisions on our behalf. Yes, that was already true under Biden, but if you trusted CNN, MSNBC and the NYT, maybe just maybe you didn’t know how out of touch President Biden was until the debate with Trump.
I’m open to the possibility I’ve failed to escape my own filter-bubble and have somehow missed a credible argument for Harris, but someone will need to make the case. I don’t want to hear about the horrors of Trump, or Biden administration miracles. I want to hear an argument for supporting Harris herself, specifically—one that is based on her capacity and not dependent on immutable characteristics.

I have long criticized the apocalyptic, democracy-ending predictions of Biden, Harris and others as ignoring the safeguards in our system against authoritarian power.
Nevertheless, Harris supporters have ratcheted up the rhetoric to a level of pure hysteria. Recently, Michael Cohen, a convicted felon and Trump’s disbarred former lawyer, told MSNBC that if Trump wins the election, he will “get rid of the judiciary and get rid of the Congress.”
Recently, MSNBC host Al Sharpton and regular Donny Deutsch warned viewers that they will likely be added to an enemies “list” for some type of roundup after a Trump election.
MSNBC host Rachel Maddow also joined in the theme of a final stand before the gulag: “For that matter, what convinces you that these massive camps he’s planning are only for migrants? So, yes, I’m worried about me — but only as much as I’m worried about all of us.”
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was quick to add her own name to a list that seems to be constantly updated by the media. She told podcast host Kara Swisher, “I mean, it sounds nuts, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy threw me in jail.”
On ABC’s “The View,” the hosts are becoming indistinguishable from tinfoil-hatted subway prophets. Whoopi Goldberg even explained how Trump is already committed to being a dictator who will “put you people away … take all the journalists … take all the gay folks … move you all around and disappear you.”

Maybe the “Trump-is-Hitler” thing could work if Trump were unknown. But…. He’s been famous for 5 decades. Beloved by US elites. The star of a hit NBC prime-time show. Oprah suggested he should run for President. Hung out with rappers and billionaires. The Clintons went to his wedding. And — just 3 years ago! – he was President for 4 years and nobody except MSNBC viewers remembers death camps, wars of conquest or other Hitlerian behavior. And it’s been all tried before, including this same John Kelly crap. Has the stench of desperation.

Der er noget umodent over formuleringen skrev X profilen Illegitimate Scholar i en herlig tråd om journalisten bag, uddannet på Columbia med pinkfarvet hår(!), have skrevet andre overskrifter som “Trumps rally just went full nazi, with bloodthirsty immigration threat”, “New abortion pill suits wants to force more teenagers to get pregnant”, “Trump goes on bunkers, profanity-laden rant to a room full of priests” og “Trump goes full dictator with threat to turn military on U.S. citizens”.
