Det amerikanske efterretningsvæsen mente op til præsidentvalget i 2016 at russernes røvhulleri var det sædvanlige og at russerne, som de fleste fagfolk i USA, mente Hillary Clinton ville slå Trump. De mente også at russerne havde noget kompromat på Hillary, som de glædede sig til at underminere hende med. Da værende præsident Obama bad derfor om en ny efterretnings vurdering og denne gang brugte man de falske historier fra den britiske tidligere efterretningsofficer Christopher Steele og lancerede en historie i medierne om, at russerne foretrak Trump og havde blandet sig i valget, måske i samarbejde med Trump eller hans folk.
“It is the story of the real Russian conspiracy: how high-ranking officials in the Obama Administration seeded this false claim with the help of an eager, unquestioning press corps” skrev Jonathan Turley og sagde om en af hovedpersonerne, den daværende CIA direktør John Brennan i en absolut anbefalelsesværdig artikel
Brennan is arguably the most at risk in the new disclosures, which allegedly contradict his prior testimony before Congress. On May 23, 2017, Brennan testified that the infamous Steele dossier “wasn’t part of the corpus of intelligence information that we had. It was not in any way used as a basis for the Intelligence Community Assessment that was done.”
However, the new material shows that Brennan was the key figure insisting on the inclusion of the Steele dossier in an intelligence assessment, suggesting that the Russians did influence the election in favor of Trump.
Brennan not only intervened to include the dossier but overruled the CIA’s two most senior Russia experts, who said it “did not meet even the most basic tradecraft standards.” One analyst recounted how “[Brennan] refused to remove it, and when confronted with the dossier’s main flaws, [Brennan] responded, ‘Yes, but doesn’t it ring true?’”
Notably, it was Brennan who briefed Obama in 2016 about Hillary Clinton’s plan to create a Russian conspiracy “to vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by the Russian security service.” Months later, it would be Brennan who would actively incorporate the dossier secretly funded by Clinton’s campaign.
Turley, der altid er god at læse, giver også en hurtig beskrivelse af et par af de andre hovedskyldige som Tulsi Gabbards forgænger som direktør for efterretningsvæsenet James Clapper, der på spørgsmålet om, hvorfor man kun undersøgte russisk indblanding efter at Trump vandt i 2016; “I think we had faith in the end that the electorate would do the right thing (…) Make the right choice!”. Altså valgt Hillary Clinton. Også den tidligere FBI direktør James Comey, som Trump fyrede – ham der ikke blot skrev bogen I En Højere Sags Tjeneste men også og i samme logik sagde “It has to be Joe Biden!” som hvilken kandidat han foretræk i 2020. Og så forhenværende fungerende FBI direktør Andrew McCabe.
Det kunne man se allerede dengang, men nu er chefen for efterretningstjenesterne Tulsi Gabbard altså gået i gang med at dokumentere det. Der vil blive dokumenteret stadigt mere i den kommende tid og der ventes til gengæld overraskelser. FBIs vicedirektør Dan Bongino skrev således på X (min fremhævning)

Man skulle tro at den tidligere Secret Service agent ellers havde set magten tæt nok på, til ikke at blive chokeret. Men han bliver altså aldrig den samme igen baseret på det bevismateriale, af hvad det nu end er, han har set indtil videre.

JA, hr Jarlov. Og det frikender derved alle de politiske fanger – mange er stadig fængslet – efter optøjerne ved Kongressen 6 januar 2021. De havde ret, valget var stjålet.
