En alliance af middelmådighed og konformitet, der tryner det individuelle og originale i en ufortjent tiltro til egen kvalitet og berettigelse til magten. I de seneste godt 30 år har de kørt hele den vestlige Verden mod afgrunden gennem åbne grænser, de-industrialisering, internationale konventioner og missionerende krige i et forfængeligt håb om at omgøre resten af verden i deres universitetstids idealers billede. Vi skal tale om tidligere FN ambassadør for Bush og sikkerhedsrådgiver for Trump, John Bolton.

“As somebody who has helped plan coups, not here but other places…“ sagde Bolton i 2022. Der er ikke en krig han ikke har anbefalet og Trump sagde at han hurtigt indså at manden er en idiot og tog ham kun med til forhandlinger med andre statsoverhoveder, for at give dem indtrykket at USA var på vej til at erklære krig. I et anfald af mageløs mangel på selvindsigt fremdrog han på Piers Morgan en skulptur af en håndgranat med indskriften “John R. Bolton, Truest Reaganaut, AID 1983” og tilføjede selv “This is a style of government.”

“From on or about April 9, 2018, through at least on or about August 22, 2025, BOLTON abused his position as National Security Advisor by sharing more than a thousand pages of information about his day-to-day activities as the National Security Advisor—including information relating to the national defense which was classified up to the TOP SECRET/SCI level—with two unauthorized individuals, namely Individuals 1 and 2,” the indictment reads. “BOLTON also unlawfully retained documents, writings, and notes relating to the national defense, including information classified up to the TOP SECRET/SCI level, in his home in Montgomery County, Maryland.”

CNN erkender – efter at have underholdt ideen om at Trump har presset på at få retsforfulgt tidligere FBI direktør, James Comey, som Trump i sin tid fyrede og Lettia James, statsanklageren der rejste sagen mod Trump om at have afgivet urigtige oplysninger for at få et banklån – at sagen mod Bolton ser velbegrundet ud

That Bolton is facing charges isn’t nearly as surprising. In fact, a federal judge back in 2020 basically warned of exactly that.

US District Judge Royce Lamberth ruled in Bolton’s favor in a civil case stemming from a dispute with the Trump administration over the publication of Bolton’s book. But Lamberth otherwise excoriated Bolton for his handling of classified information.

Lamberth said in his ruling that Bolton “likely jeopardized national security by disclosing classified information in violation of his nondisclosure agreement obligations.”

There are also other reasons to believe this case is more substantial.

Those include the fact that a judge greenlit a search of Bolton’s properties back in August. CNN has also reported that, while the Biden Justice Department didn’t bring these charges, this particular focus of the investigation began under the Biden administration. And the indictment also includes much more detail than the Comey and James indictments, suggesting a more thorough investigation.

The two family members who received Mr. Bolton’s notes were not identified in the 26-page indictment, but prosecutors said Mr. Bolton occasionally used his AOL and Google email accounts to send notes to them.

Mr. Bolton’s written descriptions of where he learned information often indicated that he recognized that he was describing carefully guarded government secrets, the indictment added. One entry by Mr. Bolton began, “The intel briefer said,” while another read, “while in the Situation Room, I learned.”

Making matters worse, Mr. Bolton’s emails were later hacked by someone associated with the government of Iran, the indictment said.

“A representative for Bolton notified the U.S. government of the hack in or about July 2021, but did not tell the U.S. government that the account contained national defense information, including classified information, that Bolton had placed in the account from his time as national security adviser,” according to the filing.

One surreal section of the indictment described Mr. Bolton apparently being taunted by his hacker. A message on July 25, 2021, warned, “I do not think you would be interested in the FBI being aware of the leaked content of John’s email (some of which have been attached).” The email went on to declare, “This could be the biggest scandal since Hillary’s emails were leaked, but this time on the GOP side! Contact me before it’s too late.” A representative for Mr. Bolton forwarded the email to the F.B.I.

The indictment laid out exchanges between Mr. Bolton and the two family members that made it clear he was meticulously assembling a record with their help, with the intent of turning it into a book. All three knew they needed to be discreet.

A day after Mr. Bolton joined the White House in April 2018, the indictment said, they started using an encrypted messaging app. “Why are we using this now? The encryption?” one of Mr. Bolton’s correspondents asked. “Yup,” the other responded. Mr. Bolton then chimed in: “For Diary in the future!!!!”

The charging document laid out a number of 20- to 50-page documents that Mr. Bolton sent to the two people over the app. After sending one 24-page document about his time as the national security adviser, Mr. Bolton followed up with a message that read, “None of which we talked about!!!” One of the recipients wrote back: “Shhhhh.”

…according to the indictment, revealed intelligence about future attacks by an adversarial group in another country; a liaison partner sharing sensitive information with the U.S. intelligence community; intelligence that a foreign adversary was planning a missile launch in the future; a covert action in a foreign country that was related to sensitive intergovernmental actions; sensitive sources and methods used to collect human intelligence; intelligence about an adversary’s knowledge of planned U.S. actions; intelligence about adversary’s plans for attack conducted against U.S. Forces in another country; human intelligence using sensitive sources and methods; a covert action program; intelligence collected on the leader of an adversary nation’s military group; intelligence on an adversary’s leaders; intelligence concerning a foreign country’s interactions with an adversary; a direct statement collected via intelligence sources and methods on a foreign country; a foreign country’s intelligence describing an adversary’s planned attack on a facility; sensitive sources and methods used to collect intelligence on a foreign country; a covert action and sources and methods used; intelligence on covert action planned by the U.S. Government; intelligence confirming a foreign adversary was responsible for an attack; and intelligence on covert action conducted by the U.S. Government, a liaison partner country, and specific information about the action.

Bolton har selv tidligere klassificeret nogle af de dokumenter og informationer som hemmelige, som han ville offentliggøre i sin bog. Bogen er en indrømmelse af skyld allerede i titlen “The Room Where it Happened” – “Oh, what a dead giveaway!”. Det er også et selvbillede, der placerer ham i magtens centrum (James Comeys bog hedder “To a Higher Loyalty”, en loyalitet, han selv har taget på sig sig, som er højere, end den han med hånden på biblen har sværget troskab til for at opretholde Forfatningen).

Bolton havde ingen sympati med Wikileaks Julian Assange og mente i samme ånd at “Snowden committed treason, he ought to be convicted of that and then he ought to swing from a tall oak tree”. Til MSNBC sagde Bolton dengang om ransagningen af Mar-A-Lago

“I don’t think he cared about the classification system, I don’t think he appreciated the sensitivity of this information and he didn’t appreciate the sensitivity of how it was often required, the socalled sources and the methods (,,,) He liked cool things, he saw thing so he wanted to take them (…) some days he liked to eat a lot of french fries, some days he took classified documents”

Hør for jeres indre øre Hr Schwann sige “Øv, Tøjhuset”, som han læser om den nye konkurrent i Tidende. Nogle spiller selvfølgelig politisk teater og ved at det glæder deres base og gavner deres interesser at svine Trump for noget de ved de selv er skyldige i. Men for andre, og jeg tror at Bolton er en af dem, er det et selvbillede. Trump må ikke gøre som de andre, for “han” er ikke en af dem. Han spiser pomfritter og roder i deres ting uden at kunne værdsætte dem på den rigtige måde og hans tilhængere er ildelugtende i lavprisvarehusene. Det er ham, Trump, der ikke må tage papirer hjem fra kontoret, for han værdsætter dem ikke ordentligt.

Trump, skal vi tro, er impulsstyret, som et uvornt barn. Det var det, de mente, da de efter kuppet på Trump i 2020 sagde “De voksne er tilbage!”: “With Janet Yellen poised to be named Treasury secretary, John Kerry as climate envoy, and Antony Blinken at State, Mr Biden’s choices project experience, competence and predictability, with a dash of youthful talent in Jake Sullivan as national security adviser” skrev Financial Times dengang og nu forsøger fredsskaberen Trump at ende nævnte voksnes krig i Ukraine. 

Bolton kritiserer selvfølgelig Trump i sin bog, skriver Red State Media

But the criticisms and claims are so ridiculous, it’s hard to believe that anyone would believe them. For example, Bolton claims that Trump had a discussion with Chinese president Xi Jinping about the concentration camps for Uighurs and that Trump told him he should keep building them. There was even the ridiculous claim that Trump asked China for election help.

Not only is that completely inconsistent with Trump’s position on China, which has been critical of them on mutiple levels including over the coronavirus, but he’s also been very supportive of the rights of both the Uighurs and the Hong Kong protesters, warning China against further action against protesters. More than that, Xi doesn’t admit to the concentrations camps so he surely wouldn’t be admitting them to Trump when it could then be used against him.

Even more ridiculous was the claim Trump would ask Xi for election help after the whole Russia collusion hoax.

Og ikke nok med det, som Bruno Macaes minder om, så var Bolton, selv i bagklogskabens lys, uenig med Trumps stav blendning af terror fyrsten Suleimani, en af byggeklodserne for Abraham Aftalerne og senest sejren over Hamas i Gaza

Den 76 årige Bolton har ingen venner længere. Den venstrefløj han leflede for med sine angreb på Trump, betragter ham som en nyttig idiot, der ikke længere tjener et formål (Hvis Hitler genopstod og begyndte at kritisere Trump ville han få sit eget show på MSNBC, sagde Glenn Greenwald, kaldet “The Hitler Hour!”). Og på højre side, er alle broer brændt, siger Victor Davis Hanson. Han satsede, siger Hanson videre, på at han kunne være med til at påvirke valget til Bidens, eller hvilken repræsentant systemet måtte stille med, fordel i fuld tiltro til at Trump var færdig som gårdsanger (vores egen regerings hovedløse satsning på at støtte Ukraine er sket ud fra samme historisk fejlslagne kalkule). Derfor regnede Bolton med, at hans ulovligheder ville flyve under radaren (hans sag blev trods alt droppet af justitsminister Garland)

“He likes dropping bombs on people, and killing them” skrev Trump og tilføjede “Now he will have bombs dropped on him!”
