Men billedet er fra Trumps hjem i Mar-A-Largo, kunne bl.a New York Post dokumentere ugen før(!) TV2s artikel. Og “the women were models representing the Hawaiian Tropic, the American suntan lotion brand”, unge, men voksne. En af kvinderne fortalte “I was 22 years old and remember him being very nice. He was very gentlemanly, that’s the word to describe him.” om Trump.

Jonathan Turley skrev at “the blacked-out faces suggest that these women have to be protected as possible victims” og at Demokraterne “included pictures of sex toys, novelty condom boxes with Trump’s face (saying “I’m Huuuge”) and even Epstein in a bathtub

The combination is meant to make the other photos seem more sinister, even though we have no information on where they were taken or who the women are in the images. Just Xs.

Trump is not alone in the framing of such photos. The release included a previously public photo of Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz simply meeting with Epstein, who is wearing a Harvard sweatshirt. There is no information on when or where it was taken. (Epstein was a major donor to Harvard, and Dershowitz was a Harvard professor as well as someone who served as counsel to Epstein).

The Democrats have long despised Dershowitz, a liberal who broke ranks with the party and represented Trump in his impeachment. Now, he is included with the photos of condoms and Epstein in a bath.

(…)

If Dershowitz’s picture were just re-released on its own, it would hardly be notable. However, in the company of condom boxes and bathtub shots, it can feed a news cycle of eagerly awaiting and enabling media.

I was Jeffrey Epstein’s lawyer” fortalte Alan Dershowitz i sommer “I know the facts, some of which I can’t disclose because it is privileged or subject to court-imposed sealing orders”og slog nogle ting fast

Epstein never created a “client list.” The FBI interviewed alleged victims who named several “clients.” These names have been redacted. They should be disclosed but the courts have ordered them sealed. I know who they are. They don’t include any current officeholders. We don’t know whether the accusations are true. The courts have also sealed negative information about some of the accusers to protect them. Neither the Justice Department nor private defense lawyers are free to disregard court sealing orders. The media can and should petition the courts for the release of all names and information so the public can draw its own conclusions.

There has also been speculation about incriminating videos taken by hidden cameras in Epstein’s guest bedrooms. There are videotapes, but they are of public areas of his Palm Beach, Fla., home. Epstein reported the theft of money and a licensed firearm from a drawer in his living room, so the police installed a video camera. I am not aware of video cameras in guest bedrooms.

Open records show an acquaintance between Epstein and Mr. Trump many years ago. That relationship ended when Mr. Trump reportedly banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago, long before becoming president. I have seen nothing that would suggest anything improper or even questionable by Mr. Trump.

Matt Taibbi skrev at “The Epstein saga is the worst-reported story of all time.

The world’s leading news organizations on a regular basis print easily debunked untruths. Crucial details, like a federal case built on a recovered memory, the chief accuser being an epic fabulist, or nearly a billion dollars in civil claims won by “survivors” who themselves may be “professional recruiters” (as one victim put it to me), are left out of coverage. Almost all of the drama is concentrated in the expectation of revelations around things that still theoretically could be true, like underage hijinks with a Clinton or Trump, or an arrangement with the Mossad, but the absence of evidence of these things is rarely reported.

Inconvenient facts excised, reporters have used remaining details to build the mother of conspiracy tales, a keyhole through which the world may see All The Secrets, except the evidence doesn’t support the marquee. On closer examination, most elements of popular belief about Epstein collapse, leaving a manic, breathlessly wrong legend that’s on track to be remembered as a combination of Salem and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. What’s really there:

Anyone looking back at the Epstein story will find it took significant narrative leaps at specific junctures.

Epstein became an infamous object of fascination once Vicki Ward wrote “The Talented Mr. Epstein” for Vanity Fair in 2003. In the time since, a combination of civil claims (particularly Virginia Roberts a.k.a. Giuffre’s bombshell accusations involving Prince Andrew in 2011), furious media treatments (like Whitney Webb’s One Nation Under Blackmail) and real events (his ridiculously suspicious death on August 10, 2019) has turned Epstein into an all-things-to-all-theorists cottage industry, with plaintiff lawyers clocking over a half billion dollars in settlements and both Republicans and Democrats piling up political capital by accusing each other of hiding secrets, protecting pedophiles, even covering up their own complicity in Epstein’s death. As Michael Tracey’s written more than once, a hilarious irony of the current mania is that it was originally driven by people now within the Trump administration. Similarly, current all-Epstein-all-the-time network MSNOW was called MSNBC and denouncing Epstein conspiracy theories as illuminati-type nonsense just two years ago:

In the phase since 2019, the Epstein legend has built up to fantastic dimensions via serial abuse/misuse of words like pedophile, ring, blackmail, intelligence, and global.

No term has done more damage than “trafficker.”

“A lot of the mischief is around that word, and the confusion around the two indictments,” said one source close to the case.

Og derved har også medierne “a substantial corporate interest in obfuscating the Trump administration’s efforts to bring Russiagate to light, since it may also illuminate the role of the press in publishing leaks of classified intelligence to advance known falsehoods undergirding a criminal conspiracy

Men Russiagate var også “an instrument devised to block Trump’s foreign policy, limiting his choices on how to deal not only with Russia but also—indeed, most importantly—with China”.

Instead of prioritizing China, which Trump has always believed is the main threat to U.S. peace and prosperity, he ended up having to spend much of his first term worrying about the domestic effects of any policy that was remotely related to Russia. Similarly, Epsteingate is also a foreign-policy instrument. When understood this way, it’s hard to ignore that Carlson and Bannon are in alignment with Democratic foreign policy—that is, Obama’s policy.

“For [Steve] Bannon and [Tucker] Carlson, Epsteingate is part of a larger effort to drive down support for Israel among younger Trump voters”.

The problem is that nothing the administration produces now will satisfy this faction of MAGA, because Bannon and Carlson are not interested in transparency or accountability. Rather, they’ve rigged the Epstein story to damage Trump. In their telling, Epstein wasn’t just a predator; he was also a spy, an operative using American teenagers as bait to compromise powerful liberal elites on behalf of the Mossad. They’ve framed the affair so that only confirmation of their mad conspiracy theory will put Epstein’s ghost to rest.

Palm Beach authorities started investigating Epstein in 2005 and indicted him in 2006 on one count of soliciting prostitution. The FBI was so dissatisfied with those charges that it began its own investigation. That’s a big hole in the spy narrative right there: If Epstein was being protected by U.S. agencies, it’s hard to understand why the DOJ would go out of its way to bring a federal case against him, which it did again in 2019. Proponents of the theory that Epstein was protected have yet to address its most obvious flaw: Federal authorities kept charging Epstein with crimes, which is strong evidence that no one in the federal government was protecting him.

Og til ideen om at Epstein var Mossad, minder Smith om at Glenn Greenwald selv fortalte Carlson på hans podcast at “U.S. spy services regard the Israelis as a major counterintelligence threat”, noget der også bruges som et argument mod Israel

According to flight manifests unsealed with thousands of other documents days before Epstein’s August 2019 death, Clinton flew on Epstein’s private plane at least 26 times, with some trips including staff, associates, and Secret Service. Contrary to common wisdom regarding Epsteingate, Clinton’s appearance on that list does not support the idea that Epstein was an intelligence asset blackmailing powerful people—rather, it suggests the opposite.

Since Clinton first came to the White House in 1992 up until Patel took charge of the FBI this winter, the bureau’s most successful mission has been protecting the Clintons. Consider the scandals implicating the Clintons during the 42nd president’s eight years in office that required the FBI to look the other way. Among others, there was Travelgate, Whitewater, Chinagate and, most intriguingly, Filegate, when Clinton aides were given access to hundreds of FBI documents related to security clearances, including the personal information of White House staffers from previous Republican administrations. In retrospect, Filegate looks like a test run for the most notorious Clinton-FBI scandal, when Hillary’s 2016 campaign used the FBI to spy on her rival for the White House—the scandal that became Russiagate.

It’s no surprise the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified information concluded she’d done nothing wrong, even though the FBI had evidence that her private server was likely hacked by the Russians. What would later shock Trump and his supporters was the discovery that at the exact same time the director of the FBI cleared her, the FBI also set in motion an operation to frame the Republican candidate for stealing and leaking her emails by tying him to Russia. The only evidence for the allegation that he was compromised by Moscow, an allegation the FBI used to spy on Trump’s campaign, was fabricated by Clinton contractors.

For a quarter of a century, the FBI has been protecting the Clintons. The idea that this same law enforcement agency exposed the Clintons and some of their most prominent donors in Epstein’s circle—such as Bill Gates and Leslie Wexner—to a blackmail operation run by a foreign intelligence service, let alone Israel’s, is untethered from reality. The idea that Trump has buried the Epstein story and is thereby protecting the individuals and institutions that sought to ruin him is deranged.
