I think about what four years of a retribution presidency might look like. He could order the investigation and prosecution of individuals who he sees as enemies. I’m sure I’m on the enemies list. Because the president constitutionally does oversee the Executive Branch entirely which includes the Department of Justice, prosecutors and investigators.

It has to be somebody committed to the rule of law, committed to the values of this country. And I’m not talking about policy. People can disagree about policy. There are things above those disagreements that all of us should think about the same way. The president must be someone who abides the law and our Constitution. And there’s no one else but Joe Biden.

Den seneste tid har Republikanerne gerne villet verificere, om en whistleblowers historie om Bidens salg af amerikanske interesser til skumle udenlandske kræfter. Men FBI har imod Kongressens vilje afvist at udlevere det omtalte dokument. Først efter trusler om sanktioner gav FBIs direktør Christoffer Wray sig lidt af vejen, da den Republikanske senator Chuck Grassley fik lov til at læse dokumentet under sikrede forhold. The confidential human source (CHS) behind the detailed allegations that then-Vice President Joe Biden agreed to accept money from a foreign national to affect policy decisions was reportedly “highly credible” and used by the FBI in multiple criminal investigations dating back to the Obama administration. Friday’s exclusive by Fox News provides further insight into Sen. Chuck Grassley’s focus on the FBI — as opposed to the Biden family — as the primary scandal in play.

“We aren’t interested in whether or not the accusations against [then]-Vice President Biden are accurate,” Grassley said during an interview last week discussing FBI Director Christopher Wray’s refusal to comply with the congressional subpoena issued for the FD-1023 form. That form, dated June 30, 2020, included detailed information from a CHS to the FBI regarding an agreement by now-President Biden to deliver preferred foreign policy positions for a $5 million payment.

Yes, the CHS’s allegations offer more evidence of a Biden family pay-to-play scandal, and unraveling any criminal conduct by the Biden family remains important. But more significant to the future of our country is uncovering government actors responsible for violating the rule of law: America can survive select injustices, but it cannot withstand a corrupt bureaucracy that obstructs justice and interferes in elections.

John Durham’s special counsel report recently lay bare the impropriety of the FBI’s targeting of the Trump campaign based on unverified gossip from an unvetted source. Grassley is now highlighting the converse: the FBI’s improper branding of evidence from a “highly credible” CHS as disinformation to protect the Democrat candidate for president.

This evidence of continuing political bias at the FBI is Grassley’s primary concern, prompting him to call for a “change in the culture.” That change will be a long time coming, however, given that Wray resisted the subpoena and appears poised to fight Grassley and congressional oversight committees every step of the way.

The FBI’s years-long malfeasance — which includes misleading Congress, covering up corruption, manufacturing scandals, raiding the home of a former president, targeting innocent people based on their moral and political beliefs, and interfering in elections — is no secret to the majority of Americans who know the U.S. has a two-tiered system of justice.

The agency’s laundry list of deeply rooted corruption became even more obvious in recent weeks after Special Counsel John Durham confirmed there was never any evidence to sustain the agency’s “seriously flawed” Crossfire Hurricane investigation of “collusion” between then-presidential candidate Donald Trump and Russia.

Of the 1,358 respondents surveyed between May 31 and June 2, mere weeks after the Durham report surfaced, 39 percent said they want the FBI to be “reformed by Congress to keep it from meddling in future elections.”

Americans’ widespread contempt for the politicized federal agency is not exclusive to one voting bloc. Overall 75 percent of Republicans, 59 percent of Democrats, and 57 percent of independents appear to understand that the FBI is a threat to the nation that must be addressed with some form of retribution or rehabilitation.

Only 15 percent of Americans believe the FBI should be “left alone” because it has already “learned its lesson.”

Most Americans today believe Martha Stewart was convicted 20 years ago on charges of “insider trading.” Her actual conviction that sent her to federal prison was conspiracy to lie about the crime for which she was never charged over a trade that had already taken place.

Stewart’s quarter-million-dollar sale of ImClone stock served as the pretext for which federal prosecutors, led by none other than Comey, went after the media mogul. Comey’s case, however, was so weak that prosecutors pursued a novel legal theory to secure a conviction.

According to the theory they pursued, Stewart engaged in “securities fraud” when she declared that she was innocent, which prosecutors said was designed to prop up the value of her company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. In other words, Stewart’s proclamation of innocence was declared a crime by federal law enforcement, and she spent six months incarcerated.
