Valgnederlag for USA

Men her var det især det Republikanske parti, der ikke kunne begejstre vælgerne  “Remember when the GOP gave Elon Musk a standing ovation in front of the American people…” spurgte Matt Van Swoll på X “…and then only voted on 1 DOGE cut, didn’t defund the Taliban, gave $315 MILLION to a far Left group that DOGE defunded, and NEVER passed the SAVE ACT?”

“That will create a frenzy to move on the agenda items from packing the Court to impeaching the President” konstaterede Jonathan Turley på X, men mindede om at en rigsret dog kræver ⅔ flertal. Mange udlægger det, som om Trump tabte, men “Trump was elected to do politically difficult but necessary things”, som Breitbarts Joel Pollack minder om

Securing the border is ugly. Fighting Iran is costly. Taking on special interests upsets donors. Backing AI scares people. Tonight, Republicans paid the costs. The benefits will be with us for many generations.

Reagan lost 26 House seats in 1982, while Republicans gained one Senate seat. Two years later, he won 49 states. A midterm setback can punish a president without discrediting his entire agenda. Trump’s mistakes deserve scrutiny, but voter frustration is not proof that the America 1st agenda was unsustainable or that his presidency’s final verdict has been written. Results, not outrage, will settle that question.

Has Trumps Hamiltonian agenda ended? No

If Democrats control the House and Senate with a Republican president, the Hamiltonian economic agenda stays largely intact.

The One Big Beautiful Bill’s permanent tax structure and production incentives are already law. Tariffs continue under existing executive authorities.

A Democratic Congress can pass bills to reverse either; it cannot override a veto. Gridlock freezes the existing framework.

New legislative expansions become harder. The core, tax permanence, industrial tariffs, and production emphasis, does not get rolled back.

IMHO what the election signals is a desire to end the Iran Conflict and focus on affordability issues.

Trump kan, som X-profilen Clandestine påpeger nedlægge veto ved al lovgivning, som ikke huer Republikanerne, hvilket reducerer Demokraterne til at være “annoying with committees, impeachments, and investigations”, men ikke stort andet. Roger Stone var dog harm “Coup afoot to inside DoW to impeach Hegseth, Eisen and Elias planning new tsunami of lawfare, Slotkin reveals cases lined up to investigate Trump his family, and his appointees”, men Trump har allerede sagt at han vil dele benådninger ud hvor det bliver aktuelt.

Just wrapped up an election night broadcast that hasn’t seen as grim a result for the GOP since President Obama’s landslide in 2008 when the Congress he brought with him had only 40 GOP senators and 178 Republicans in the House. A blue tsunami by anyone’s measure.

It is b/c of Iran and the gas and pass through costs everywhere, but the decision to stop Iran’s nuclear program was a necessity. Now I hope President Trump finishes the job and does so quickly so that the economy which is in lift off quickly reveals the folly of turning Congress over to the Democrats.

3.4% GDP growth in Q3 is just the beginning of a boom that cannot be easily derailed by the left, but they will try. It will be an interesting two years for both parties, but President Trump has the courage to see the battle with Iran through to the collapse or cowing of the regime. If he began tomorrow it wouldn’t be too soon.

Some great legislators were retired tonight. I hope the GOP can rally and return to force through a Reconciliation 3.0 to fund the Pentagon through the end of President Trump’s term. It’s job number one and the lame duck session could see that done.

Også X-profilen Cynical Publius var fortrøstningsfuld. “Be of good cheer” opfordrede han og satte et andet historisk perspektiv

Remember 2012?  Remember having to support squish Mitt Romney and he lost anyway?  Remember feeling like America was lost and it was all so very, very hopeless?

Yeah, I remember.

I remember that Trump’s win in 2016 was something we could not even imagine in our wildest dreams that November night in 2012.

The night is always darkest before the dawn, and political winds can shift in an instant.
